Debbie Cohen
Debbie Cohen is a native New Yorker who has always hated the cold and moved south to attend college. She graduated from University of South Florida in Tampa where she majored in Education. While at USF, she made many treks up to Gainesville and became a big Gator fan along the way. Her teaching career began with Palm Beach County Schools, Florida teaching middle schoolers during the week and going to Gator football games and the beaches on weekends. It was a nice life but after 8 years, Debbie said good-bye to the beautiful beaches and moved to Atlanta. Her first job in Fulton Co. was at Barnwell Elementary. She liked it there a lot but realized she missed working with older kids, so she transferred to Northwestern Middle School. In 2004, Debbie got married and helped open Hopewell. Two years later, through the miracle of adoption, she and her husband Howie became the proud parents of twin girls.
